Why Did Canada Enter World War II ?
Canada entered the war for many reasons. One of the reasons why Canada joined world war II was because they were resentful towards the Treaty of Versailles. This treaty was made with good intentions but it didn't seen to end that way because when this treaty was done Adolf Hitler just got elected prime minister. Now as some may know Hitler was the dictator of Germany. People outside of Germany felt that Hitler's ways were bad and perspectives on life and humans were wrong. Hitler did numerous things that were wrong like killing Jews. Hitler was anti-sematic. he was influenced by what he saw in his daily life. He felt that Jews were communist and as some may know he is a fascist. he set out and killed many Jews a he could and nobody could really stop hi. the invasion of Czechoslovakia made it clear that Hitler would not stand for appeasement. Hitler began to conquer each of the European countries slowly one by one. France, Britain, and Canada thought that Hitler should be stopped before he tries to invade one of their countries.
On August 23, 1939 Hitler and Stalin made a non-aggressive pact. This had shocked the world. Stalin was the dictator of Italy. Together Russia and Germany were unstoppable. The invasion of Poland by Germany in 1939 led to the declaration of war by England and France on September 3 because they wanted to protect the country
Canada entered world war one as part of the British empire. In world war II prime minister Mackenzie Lyon king gathered the parliament on September 10 1939 and Canada officially declared war on Germany a week from France and Britain
